Skills: Design, branding, illustration

Pre-rebrand, UncommonGoods relied heavily on illustrations for digital assets. I worked directly with marketing partners to produce these illustrations as well as design emails, social posts, ads, and branding materials.

I created custom brand-reinforcing illustrations such as this one for web, email, social media, and internal use. They were a way we added some surprise and delight for our customers.

This custom sale illustration and animation I did featured on emails, social, and homepage and brought some soothing freshness to our channels..

EMAILS

I designed (and continue to design) nearly all the marketing emails. I collaborated with copy and marketing teams to develop the email strategy, storytelling, and overall look and feel of the email program. I used the data we gathered from A/B tests to influence my design decisions.

I worked with a videographer to art direct my idea for a cyber Monday email that would feature our gift box and bring a human connection between us and our customers. This email brought in 200k in revenue and performed 30% better than the previous year’s Cyber Monday email.

Another fun email that was part of the Valentine’s day campaign. I added a little motion to some stock images I was able to repurpose and edit the color on. It was very low-lift but helped make a non-product email that much more exciting.

SOCIAL

I maintain brand consistency on Instagram and Facebook while promoting product, developed interesting content, and bringing awareness to brand defining moments, like the 20 year anniversary and partnerships with non-profits. For the 20th anniversary campaign, I designed posts highlighting our makers and our employees alike. I worked with the social media manager to come up with ideas for giveaways and engaging content for our social following. I also led the asset creation and branding for the campaign for homepage, email, and internal events.

FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM ADS

When I create ads, I use minimal resources as a first step. Once I get results on which products are starting to take off, I will request further assets from our photo & video teams. I work with our marketing coordinator and brand marketing manager to identify products that could use some extra TLC from our creative team and then decide on next steps, whether that means requesting assets or using what we have already.
